In AOW3, stuff just disappears, and you have to do a little Sherlock Holmes detective work to discover what happened. Napoleon and Sun Tzu had junior officers who complained bitterly about marching to their deaths. Total War and the Paradox games will put skull icons on the screen to indicate attrition through terrain. What does bug me is that there is no easy indicator that the army will suffer on hostile ground.

I've studied the Napoleonic Wars and Sun Tsu, so that kind of thing happens all the time. Fortunately for me, the Hero wasn't essential to the story and returned from the Void three turns later.Ĭertainly, that was poor judgement on my part. I did not have enough movement points to get out of the blight, so the next turn the whole army died. I engaged the enemy on blighted terrain and got out of the battle with my army all still there but every unit was low on health. Today, I had an army stack plus Hero get wiped out by blighted terrain, which made me think I should have read that thread more closely.

A few threads ago, there was a topic on taking damage and getting healing from having an army walk over blighted terrain in the Strategic Map.
